Mr Lee Korean Food & Drink started in 2020 with a simple goal – to bring real Korean comfort food to Da Nang.
The restaurant was created by Mr Lee, a Korean living in Da Nang, together with Anh. Mr Lee brought years of experience in Korean street food and home-style cooking, focusing on dishes that are simple, familiar, and made to be shared. Anh brought a genuine passion for cooking and a strong focus on consistency, learning directly from him while working side by side in the kitchen every day.
To deepen her understanding, she later spent time in Korea learning more about ingredients, techniques, and especially sauces – the foundation of many Korean dishes.
These sauces and preparation methods became a defining part of the restaurant. Today, many Korean customers recognise this immediately, often commenting that the flavours feel like home.
In 2024, Mr Lee returned to Korea, and Anh continued the business. She temporarily moved to a delivery-only kitchen, focusing on maintaining quality and rebuilding step by step.
With the support of loyal customers who kept ordering and recommending the food, she was able to relaunch Mr Lee Korean Food & Drink in its current location in the An Thuong area near My An Beach.
Today, the restaurant continues with the same approach:

Why Our Food Feels Like Home
Many of our customers, especially Korean visitors and residents in Da Nang, often say the same thing – the food feels like home.
This comes from how the dishes are prepared. From the beginning, the focus has been on simple, familiar recipes rather than adapting flavours or making them more complex. The goal has always been to keep the balance and taste that people expect from everyday Korean food.
A big part of this is the sauces. Much of the flavour in Korean cooking comes from how sauces are prepared and used. These were developed early on and refined over time, and they remain a key part of how each dish is made today.
Consistency also plays an important role. Whether it is kimbap, fried chicken, hotteok or tteokbokki, the aim is to prepare each dish the same way every time, using fresh ingredients and the same methods.
This combination of familiar flavours, careful preparation, and consistency is what makes the food feel recognisable and comforting – especially for those who know Korean cuisine well.
